About Me
My name is Tom Howard, and I am currently studying towards a BA in Sound Technology at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Around my studies I work as a Freelance Sound Engineer around Liverpool and Leeds.
My main area of work and interest is Sound Reinforcement for Live Event, although I also have experience in Theatre, Corporate Event, Recording Studios and Installation.
My school days were spent at Horsforth School in Leeds, where I left with 11 GCSEs and 5 A-Levels. My studies included Further Maths, Physics, Computing, Photography and Electronics. Between ‘99 and ‘03 I also played in a Leeds based folk punk band, performing nationally, and was involved in the organisation and promotion of a large number of local live music events.
Outside of Sound Engineering, I pursue an interest in outdoor activities and am a leader with the Scout Association, which includes training in First Aid. I have always had a proficiency with electronics and computers, and this combined with my fondness of music led to where I am today.
